Norrie is the president of the club and has clocked up an astonishing 60 years association with the club. Norrie also far outdates the clubs records and as such his achievements are not fully known. He was a consistent all rounder in the early days of his career, becoming a trusty slow bowler and reliable number 11 later in his career. Local folklore insisted that Norrie would score a 4 to win a match at least once a season to further enhance status as a Pyestock legend. Extremely useful spin bowler who deceived many a batsmen with crafty and niggling line and length. Even as a fielder, Norrie defied belief, taking many unbelievable catches in his familiar silly mid off position in the field until a serious head injury whilst fielding there against Concorde in 2003 saw him withdrawn from the position by the skipper. Norrie became Pyestock’s first ever life member of the club when voted in unanimously by his fellow team-mates in 2004. In 2015 Norrie took to the field at the age of 80, continuing his run of playing in every season since 1963 until sadly announcing his retirement at the end of the 2018 season.
