Award Winners 2013 Season

Pyestock Cricket Club were pleased to recognise its top players and servicemen at the annual presentation evening last Sunday. 

 

The awards that were presented were as follows.

 

The Alan Butler Cup for Batting: 

Glenn Taylor - for scoring a club record 172 not out at Hillingdon Manor CC. Glenn was also presented with a commemorative salver recognising the fact that he broke the clubs all time batting record. 

 

The Cooper Cup for Bowling:

Ben Bromley - for recording figures of 6 wickets for 40 runs during a mammoth 20 over spell at Warfield CC

 

The Fielding Trophy:

Pete Harris - for exceptional fielding throughout the season whilst also claiming 10 catches.

 

The Highest Partnership Trophy:

Jon Ford and Glenn Taylor - for a highly entertaining opening partnership of 133 vs Raynes Park Former Pupils CC at the clubs first "home game staged at Peper Harow CC. Glenn contributed 96, Jon 31 and 4 extra's made up the partnership.

 

The Captains Prize:

Awarded from Neil Butler to Chris Heath, for work on compiling the 2013 fixture list in difficult circumstances, maintaining the club website and general good performances over the season.

The Harry Brooks Vice Captains Prize:

Presented by Chris McGovern to Norrie Short for the monumental achievement of registering 50 playing years for the club. 

 

It was also announced that the club will next season be introducing a new award, the Norrie Short Trophy for the player of the year. The award will be presented annually and the winner will be the player voted to have performed the best over the season.
