Jay Threlfall

Jay was coaxed into joining Pyestock in 2014 by many players who thought he was perfect for the atmosphere of the side, and they were not wrong as Pyestock's newest member settled in with ease. Unfortunately a thumb injury at Theale and Tilehurst brought his debut season to a premature end, but returned in 2015 with a bang by topping the clubs bowling averages and smashing a hugely proficient 42 not out at Aldershot CC whilst all else crumbled around him. Jay's presence and humour on the field keeps all other players entertained with some brilliant outside of the box reasoning, to justify his quite reasonable performances. A guest Captaincy appearance at Porchfield CC in 2016 was a joy to behold. Stunned with the bat in 2021 and made a mockery of his previous statistics by smashing 245 runs including a first half-century at Widmer End St Margarets CC, yet bizarrely backed this up by astonishingly failing to take a single wicket in the season. Fields at mid-on EXCLUSIVELY!
