Jon Ford

Jon was originally introduced to the side in 2005 thanks to an increasing link with Aldershot CC and quickly became a regular opening batsmen who the rest of the team can rely on to build their innings around, Jon passed 4,000 career runs in 2019 proving just what a valuable asset he is to the sides top-order. A fantastic fielder who saves many runs in front of the bat, exemplified by a brilliant run out at Worcester Park, while Pyestock were temporarily reduced to just 7 players. Also chips in with the odd wicket, usually on tour for which his appearances with the ball are normally reserved. Jon admirably captained the side from 2020 to 2021 managing the playing side through the Covid-19 pandemic and a wave of selection problems, for which the club will always be grateful. Jon finished the 2023 season on exactly 300 appearances for the club. A fine achievement!
